Blackstone Group as a Manager
Perform various duties associated with the daily oversight and growth of the West Coast Real Estate division, and act as a liaison between local office and headquarters. Develop and sustain client relationships for the Los Angeles branch. Oversee the annual budget by compiling an annual fiscal report for the LA division and preparing all office related monthly expense reports. Facilitate distribution of financial statements and oversee coordination of payment for all invoices directly with Chief Financial Officer. Maintain tight controls on budgets in regards to travel, office expenses, benefits, and other operational matters. Implemented a cost effective method to cut operating costs by reaching out to local vendors with lower price points and reducing cost by 35%. Keep security and IT software in working condition. Define and institute disaster recovery programs. Preside over renovations to existing buildings, including art work selection for the lobby and landscaping. Actively and successfully explore new business development opportunities, such as classified retail development in existing commercial spaces. Represent company at local city committee hearings and provide analysis on its potential impact. Lead large-scale office and personnel moves (domestic and international). Served as head project manager with architectural and construction teams during build-out of local office facility. Handled all moving logistics and participated in the design and layout of space. Ensured a smooth transition from a construction site to a fully operational data facility, meeting budgets and timelines, through on-target coordination between disparate technical groups
Sports and Entertainment Group as an Events Coordinator/ Fundraising Manager
Planned and organized 75-100 professional sports and entertainment fund-raisers per year, averaging 80K per event in funds raised for various non-profit organizations (civic and city). Traveled to events and provided on-site support. Ensured that setup of event was in accordance with lease requirements and with safety codes. Drafted contractual agreements for clients consisting of event details and company obligations. Art directed all marketing materials, including program guides, tickets, and other various promotional materials. Created and distributed public relations releases and press materials to print, audio and visual medias. Located and set-up remote event production offices. Processed weekly Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable for 8-10 event managers and their staff, totaling 150 employees. Guided production teams on how to efficiently execute business processes involving pledges and donor comments. Coordinated and negotiated celebrity public appearances in various locations. Assisted in production of weekly 1999/2000 Denver Broncos TV Show, The Ed and Rod Show. Researched various US cities for potential new clients, while simultaneously work on maintaining existing relationships.
California Home Protection Services as a Research Assistant / Executive Assistant
Organized market research projects to determine customer needs. Input data and ran credit checks on customers. Handled sales conference calls and follow-ups to develop and pursue new business accounts. Worked closely with the companys owner and several contractors. Oversaw calendar management, payroll, supplies, and accounts payable.
