BHS as a Sales Associate
Working on the Home & Lighting department I worked in a small team and at times independently to sell a range of lighting equipment, bedding, bathroom accessories, and kitchenware to customers.

I would often be asked for my personal or technical opinion to help customers choose the most suitable light fitting for their home, and the correct accessories to go with them.

One thing I liked about the job; The company utilised a network system to meet supply and demand by making online ordering available, reserving requested items in local stores, and inter-store transfers, this helped to keep customers happy.

One thing that could have improved the experience; The opportunity for further training would have been very beneficial, the skill to explain how to get the most out of the light fittings would have given the customers that expert experience.

Frog & Bucket Comedy Club as a Bartender
The comedy club was a limited venue with a relatively small staff, on a normal night the venue would have a team of 5 staff to around 100 customers.

As bar staff we would serve food and drink at the start of the night and in the intermissions between acts which could often be very intense serving so many customers in a short space of time. Whilst acts were on the focus would be re stocking the bar and ensuring the venue is clean, this would also resume at the end of the night.

Grantham Meres Leisure Centre as a Recreational Assistant
Working in a large leisure centre in various sized teams the role was very varied. Some core duties of the job included lifeguarding and pool supervision, delivering first aid, attending monthly training sessions, cleaning and maintaining the centre.

Over my 18 months there I also took on the additional responsibility of the 'events team' which would set up and take down concert seating and staging. I also worked with the cafe and reception areas of the centre when staffing was an issue.

*Now under new management of 1Life
I speak fluent English, a bit of German and a bit of Polish

SOME PROJECTS I DID:

Work Psychology Project

During my third year of university I took an elective of Psychology at Work that focused on the study of areas such as; leadership, effective recruitment processes, interview strategy, staff appraisal, and psychology regarding training and development. As part of the assessment criteria for this project we were divided into a group of six in which we should research an area as a group and give a formal presentation based on that research.
