University Radio Bath as a Head of Station Sound
Responsible for everything broadcasted that isn't a presenter or music. This includes working alongside the Head of Advertising and Marketing to ensure that URB's sound is fresh and relevant. Tasks include creating adverts for the station on a regular basis and working alongside presenters and producers to help provide individual shows with what they require, e.g. jingles for features.

Skills Gained/Enhanced: audio editing, broadcast technology, working with a committee, training people, budgeting.

The Black Horse, Amberley as a Website Consultant
Advised a local business on the development of an interactive website with social media connectivity, as an integrated element of their marketing strategy. The website is mobile compatible and includes 8 pages of content with a template for future updates. The website is interactive with Google Maps and Google Analytics and promoted through advertising and search engine optimisation.

Skills Gained/Enhanced: website design, commercial negotiation, networking, time management and website optimisation research.

Barman and Waiter: The Black Horse, Amberley & The Ragged Cot, Minchinhampton as a Barman/Waiter
Worked unsupervised in the bar area, ensuring that we had sufficient stock supplies and had access to the main safe to ensure cash remained secure. Dealt confidently with customers providing a welcome and friendly atmosphere. The job required me to use initiative to multi-task and prioritise in a busy environment.

Skills Gained/Enhanced: team working, customer communication, stock and cash management.

TomTom as a Navigation Evaluator
Assigned three urban locations in South West England to evaluate and test navigation data. The project involved updating and creating new data, working with a specialist mobile application system. Real time decision making was required whilst collecting the data. I maintained the 98% quality key performance indicator target throughout the project.

Skills Gained/Enhanced: quality control, technical knowledge relating to the specialist application, time management, self-starter (all tasks commenced and completed without management oversight).

UK Boarding Schools Ltd. as a Marketing and IT Support
Worked in China for an organisation that promotes UK boarding schools to Chinese students. Developed and enhanced their computer network including introducing a customer relationship management (CRM) system, enhancing their marketing capability.

Skills Gained/Enhanced: working in a different culture, developing a CRM system, business improvement techniques, marketing.

Sainsbury's as a Bakery Counter Assistant
Served customers and working to a Just In Time (JIT) stock management process, ensuring a range of fresh products were always available. Within my first month I received a 100% mystery shopper rating which had not been achieved within the department for almost 2 years previously.

Grainger PLC as a Shadowing Network Managers
Worked alongside an IT director of a FTSE 250 company gaining an insight into the various operational issues within a large organisation. Also worked on the technical help desk providing support to offices across the UK and Germany.

Lead Social Prefect

Responsible for organising the college’s social calendar. Initiated a charity fundraising event which brought hundreds of students and their families to the college successfully raising in excess of £4000. Skills Gained/Enhanced: planning, budgeting, communication, delegation.

Junior Boarding House Prefect

Provided support to the students and the boarding house parents. Skills Gained/Enhanced: responsibility of caring for younger students, taking initiative solving conflict, working with staff as a team.

Led the development of Rendcomb College’s website, including creating a virtual tour of the school. Created a dedicated prefects section to enhance communication between the prefects and the rest of the school.
