Navigant International as a Director, eCommerce Product Development
Now part of Carlson Wagonlit, Navigant was the worlds second-largest ($3 billion) business travel agency. I was recruited onto the Executive Steering team to direct product management, delivering private-labeled eCommerce sites and call centers.
• Proposed and led the development and operations of a cross-channel SaaS email-marketing platform that delivered a 100% increase in eCommerce revenue in just five months.
• Directed design and launch of industry innovations such as private labeling as well as dynamic packaging and pricing. • Contributed to major account sales projects that won private-label distributors such as the FirstUSA and MBNA credit cards, JCPenney.com, and CruiseCenter.com.
I have traveled widely for profit and fun throughout north america, asia, and europe. I quickly learn enough language and culture to get around and make friends.

Charlie can lead a marketing team from creating compelling messages right through to turning those value props into killer collateral. I've seen him train and lead matrixed cross-funtional teams (the hardest kind) through this contentious positioning process with skill and grace. He is the kind of coworker everyone wants to have -- smart, cheerful, and unfailingly generous in sharing his considerable knowledge.

Charlie brings to the table a blend of experience to help marketers create thought leadership messaging as well as help them execute tactics to take the messages to the market. He is also a great tech trouble shooter. He has helped a number of marketing teams structure their go-to-market messages as well as develop collateral ( presentations, white papers...) to take these messages to customers. He also has the ability to be a good facilitator and a coach. Managing time, prioritization of projects and executing projects in a timely manner are among his strengths - in addition to being a great friend and a sounding board for ideas.

I had the pleasure of working with Charlie after Oracle bought InQuira. Charlie was extremely helpful in guiding me down the path of how to get things done at Oracle. He is inventive, quickly picks up new ideas and knowledge, and a reliable resource that I could always count on. What I liked most about Charlie was his concern for how I was doing and whether I was getting my needs met. On more than one occasion Charlie changed his plans to help get my needs met. He is a real team player. I would not hesitate to work with Charlie again under any circumstances.

Charlie is a focused goal oriented Product Manager with exceptional attention to quality. This is a combination found in only a small percentage of Product Managers and this separates a good manager for the great ones.

Charlie and I worked through some very dynamic times within JD Edwards. While many people were leaving from fear and uncertainty, Charlie was determined and committed to drive success. Because of this, he was very instrumental in the most successful CRM release in JD Edwards history.
