AMWAY — Public Relations Associate, Global Media Relations
As a member of Amway's global media relations team, I write and distribute 5-10 global news releases, annually, and Monitor and report on global news coverage and media activity. I also serve on the international crisis team, working with affiliate, legal, internal communications and executive teams to drive media relations and communications efforts.

Day-to-day responsibilities include managing more than 120 executive bios and all company fact sheets, as well as maintaining Amway's global media sites, including the Amway Global NewsroomAmway StartupAmway Manufacturing Expansion and Amway Scientific Excellence.

Previously, I led the redesign of Amway's global blog, the Amway Insider, and managed West Michigan and Buena Park, California, community relations PR efforts, which included writing and distributing news materials, coordinating event media coverage, managing on-site media requests and monitoring and reporting on coverage.

TEDxGrandRapids — Public Relations/Communications Lead
As the public relations/communications lead for one of the top 10% of TEDx events in the world, I lead strategy and execution of messaging and content for communication materials, including fact sheets, blogs and website copy. I also manage media relations efforts, which includes writing news releases, pitching to local and regional media, coordinating on-site media and monitoring and reporting, and serve as primary public relations contact for news media and speakers. I also manage TEDxGR's social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Flickr) and lead social strategy and implementation.

Amway — Public Relations Intern, Global Public Relations
As a public relations intern on Amway's global PR team, I led media relations efforts for Amway West Michigan community relations, including media relations, pitching and event planning. My efforts resulted in more than 50 news stories from regional media. I also contributed to the Amway Insider blog and assisted in the planning of the ARTISTRY presence at the Busan International Film Festival with the global beauty public relations team.

Community relations projects included: KaBOOM!, GVSU NFL Youth Clinic, Amway Family Fourth of July Fireworks, Stuff the Bus, Mayor's Art Walk, United Way Campaign, Couture for a Cure and Amway Universal Children's Day.

Hello West Michigan — Marketing Intern
During my time with Hello West Michigan, a team of four interns and I created a local awareness and recruiting campaign targeted towards recent graduates of West Michigan with the objective to retain talent in West Michigan. The campaign consisted of outdoor advertisements (that ran from Labor Day weekend 2013 through the fall) and a new campaign website: www.mireason.com.

Grand Haven Chamber of Commerce — Event and Marketing Intern
As the event and marketing manager for the Lubbers Cup Regatta, I coordinated and managed the planning and implementation of the Don Lubbers Cup Regatta 2013. This included the creation of all communication materials (coaches, committee members, hotels, transportation, logistics, press) and day-of event management. Media relations efforts resulted in nine articles from: the Grand Haven Tribune, Muskegon Tribune and Grand Valley Lanthorn.

The Lubbers Cup Regatta, one of the largest, collegiate rowing regattas in Michigan, is produced in partnership with The Chamber of Commerce Grand Haven, Spring Lake, Ferrysburg, Grand Valley State University and a committee of community members from Grand Haven, Spring Lake and Ferrysburg. Experience Grand Rapids — Marketing/Social Media Intern
As the marketing/social media intern for Experience Grand Rapids (the Kent County convention and visitors bureau), I created Facebook,Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest content, contributed to the development of the organization’s social strategy and provided weekly analytic reports to executive leadership. In addition, I researched, planned and implemented social media campaigns and assisted in event planning, public/media relations, and partnership relations efforts for events such as ArtPrize, LaughFest, Restaurant Week and Culture Pass GR resulting in a stronger community presence.

During my internship, I led the organization’s National Travel and Tourism Week celebration and Instagram campaign, which won the West Michigan Public Relations Society of America Silver PRoof Award and was recognized at the Michigan Society of Association Executives Diamond Awards.
